A wedding full of little VIP magic at The Wool Tower

In a venue where fairy lights twinkled, riverside music drifted through the air, and laughter echoed all around, two little VIPs made memories that will last a lifetime.

As part of my real wedding blog series, I’m taking you back to last summer, to one of the most magical days (and nights!) spent with two of the sweetest little VIPs at the beautiful Wool Tower.

I was booked to provide all-day and overnight care, staying right through until mid-morning the next day, giving the bride and groom the precious gift of fully soaking up their special day, surrounded by family and friends, with complete peace of mind that their little one and niece were safe, loved, and cared for.

From the moment I arrived, you could feel the magic in the air. The Wool Tower is a dream, all rustic bricks, warm wooden beams, twinkling fairy lights and a beautiful stream running gently alongside, filling the air with the softest trickling sound. Live music floated through the venue, blending perfectly with the laughter and chatter of family and friends. It truly was one of those weddings where you could feel the love everywhere you turned.

I joined the family just before the ceremony, helping to keep their little man happily amused while everyone waited excitedly for the beautiful bride to arrive. His excitement was infectious, tiny hands clapping, bright eyes sparkling and it was clear from the start that this was going to be a very special day.

During the ceremony, when it all became a little overwhelming for the little ones (as it often does!), I gently scooped them outside for a little adventure. We played with bubbles, toddled around the gardens, and enjoyed the sunshine, with the sound of the river and music wrapping around us like a hug, while the vows were exchanged inside.

Afterwards, it was time for photographs and plenty of giggles before a well-earned afternoon snooze. Having me there meant mummy and daddy could truly relax and enjoy their drinks reception, knowing their little boy was safely sleeping nearby while they celebrated surrounded by the most warm, welcoming atmosphere you can imagine.

Brook Avenue were also there with their beautiful vintage ice cream cart, serving up the most delicious homemade gelato, a real treat for the guests! Their gorgeous big dog, Alvey, was there too, charming everyone he met (and even making a surprise appearance on the wedding cake in the form of a replica topper! Such a brilliant, personal touch!).

Later, I gently woke their little VIP just in time for him to reconnect with mummy and daddy and enjoy some family cuddles before dinner. While they had this precious time, I set up a cosy play area I had carefully chosen earlier. A safe and comfortable corner of the venue where their little one could play happily while still being close to the celebrations.

During the speeches, we tucked ourselves into our little nook, and he delighted in the toys I’d brought along, trains, cars, blocks, books and more, all while giggling away while the speeches unfolded. There’s nothing quite like hearing little belly laughs and seeing tiny feet toddle past a room full of smiling guests, pure magic!

After dinner, while the family enjoyed precious evening moments together, I quietly moved the toys to prepare our room for bedtime. When it was time for the goodnights, his little cousin rejoined us, and we all snuggled down into the familiar bedtime rhythm of stories, cuddles, soft pyjamas, and finally peaceful sleep.

Morning arrived with bright, happy smiles.

I served breakfast, dressed them in their outfits for the day ahead, and created another fun little play space while carefully packing their bags. Everything was ready so that when the family came to collect them, there was nothing left to do but enjoy the most important thing…cuddles and memories.

It truly was the most magical day, night, and morning, with two of the sweetest little souls and one of the warmest, loveliest families I’ve ever had the privilege to work with.
